LEGO Sets Retiring in 2026 (Full Aussie Watchlist)
A running list of every LEGO set officially marked for retirement in 2026, plus the ones we expect to retire based on production age and stock behaviour. Prices are LEGO AU RRP. Stock notes are as of the update date at the top.
How LEGO retirements actually work
LEGO doesn't publish a single "retirement calendar." Instead, sets quietly move to a "Retiring Soon" flag on the LEGO site, stay there for weeks or months, and then disappear from the store. Sometimes there's warning. Sometimes there isn't.
The reliable signals a set is about to retire:
- Marked "Retiring Soon" in the LEGO app or website
- Stock stays out for 2+ weeks at LEGO's own site
- 3+ years old — most non-flagship sets retire in that window
- Deep discounts from LEGO itself (they only discount their own stock when clearing it)
- Amazon and secondary market prices rise — the market knows before you do
Once a LEGO set is officially retired, prices historically rise about 11% per year on average across the whole retired catalogue. Some sets do much better — popular Ideas and Icons sets have doubled in 12-18 months. Buying at RRP before retirement usually beats buying "used" 3 years later.

Sets we think will retire soon (unconfirmed)
These aren't marked yet, but based on age, stock behaviour, and market pricing patterns, we'd bet on retirement announcements before the end of 2026:
- LEGO Orchid (10311) — 3.5 years old, one Botanical replacement already announced
- LEGO Bonsai Tree (10281) — the longest-running Botanical set, retirement overdue by pattern
- LEGO Ideas Home Alone (21330) — always stock-fragile at LEGO AU
None of these are confirmed. But if you've been thinking about buying any of them, waiting has more downside than upside from here.

Frequently asked questions
How long between "Retiring Soon" and actually gone?
Usually 3-9 months from the label appearing, but it varies wildly. Popular sets can disappear within weeks once the flag goes up. Slower sellers can carry the label for over a year.
Will Amazon AU still have retired sets?
For a while, yes. Amazon AU frequently has stock after LEGO AU has sold out, sometimes from third-party sellers at RRP or slightly above. Then it slowly climbs. See our buying retired LEGO in Australia guide.
Are retiring sets always a good investment?
No. Popular themes (Star Wars UCS, Ideas, Modulars, Botanicals) reliably appreciate. Generic City and Friends sets often don't. See our LEGO investment analysis for the numbers.
What if I'm just a collector, not an investor?
Then this list is about avoiding regret. If a set has been on your shelf wishlist and it's marked retiring, that's the "buy now" signal — waiting rarely helps.
