LEGO Flower Bouquet vs Orchid vs Bonsai — Which Should You Buy?

Updated 18 July 2026·Comparison·7 min read

The three flagship LEGO Botanical sets. Three very different aesthetics, three price points, three build experiences. Here's the honest side-by-side to help you pick.

The quick answer

Full breakdown below.

Head-to-head specs

Set Pieces Height RRP (AU) Status
Flower Bouquet (10280) 756 37 cm $79.99 Retiring — out at LEGO AU
Orchid (10311) 608 38 cm $99.99 In stock
Bonsai Tree (10281) 878 21 cm $79.99 In stock

1. LEGO Flower Bouquet (10280)

The set that started the Botanical range in 2021. A hand-tied bouquet of roses, snapdragons, poppies, daisies, asters and grass. Sits in a vase (not included) or lies flat.

Why it matters right now

It's retiring. Out of stock at LEGO AU as of this writing. Aftermarket prices are still close to RRP but climbing. If it's been on your list, this is the "buy now" window.

2. LEGO Orchid (10311)

The single most photographed Botanical set. White orchid blooms on a stemmed structure, with intricate roots visible through a light-blue vase. This is the "wait, that's LEGO?" set — even LEGO-averse partners tend to like it.

3. LEGO Bonsai Tree (10281)

The meditative pick. A bonsai tree with two swap-out foliage options — green leaves for spring/summer, pink cherry blossoms for autumn/winter (or any month you feel like changing). Sits low, wide and grounded.

Which is actually best value?

By price per piece:

But price per piece isn't the whole story. Orchid's pieces are larger and the finished set has more visual impact per centimetre. Bonsai's small pieces are the intricate frog-leaves that give the set its magic.

Real value depends on which one you'll actually display and love. All three are objectively good sets.

Our recommendation

If you can only buy one, buy the Orchid — it's the safest crowd-pleaser and the most likely to still be liked in 5 years. If you can buy two, add the Flower Bouquet now (before it's fully retired). Save the Bonsai for later — it's the least likely to retire soon.

What if I want all three?

Then the sequence is: Flower Bouquet first (it's retiring, so scarcity is real), Orchid second (broadest appeal, safest re-sell), Bonsai third (widely available, price stable).

Together they occupy roughly 45 cm × 30 cm of shelf when spaced out. Not small — plan the display before you buy the third.
